Hey there,

Because we have so much data and so many machines, there's no way to predict which FTP location the Democracy Now recordings will be uploaded to, so I'm afraid there's no list. If you click through from the details page, you will be redirected to a download location, of course.

If you're trying to do some kind of automated download, perhaps using the RSS feed along with a wget-like script, if you can specify it to follow the link from the details page, would be the best way? Please try not to crawl/wget the site excessively, obviously :)

Perhaps going to RSS 2.0 with enclosures is something the Archive could try in the future, when RSS readers can deal a little better with them - then your RSS reader could automatically download the latest version as soon as it gets uploaded! It's not currently scheduled, though, I'm just floating ideas.

Simon, Since you seem to have knowledge and be officially knowledgable about DN files, archives & downloads, here's my problem. Let me preface it by saying I can download MP3 files from apparently everywhere except DN, the DN staffer who helped me this morning downloaded today's 11/12/04 DN show, the tech person on my Direcway satellite broadban could not give me any help, and my computer repair guy down the road easily downloaded DN with his phone based broadband. I have the same problem, an instant termination of all Democracy Now downloads at both their website and the archive, not experienced by other compouters. I have a Pentium III 700, Direcway satellite broadband (the Dish network's satellite broadband), and I can download MP3s from everywhere else dxcept Democracy Now, which is why I bought my MP3 in the first place.
